Type Poster

Task: The objective of this project was to design a 98 pica by 60 pica poster in Adobe InDesign using a grid, the harmonic armature, and two-color, which may also include the white of the paper. This typographic poster will showcase a font of my choice that will advertise an upcoming lecture by James Mosley about the typeface. This lecture will be held at the University of Virginia’s Rare Book School in Charlottesville, VA. Lastly, the poster must include the date, time, and feature both capital and lowercase A through Z along with numbers zero to nine.

I had the option of using one of my posters from my type chronology booklet due to the lack of time and circumstances caused by the coronavirus pandemic. For this project, I choose to use my Century Schoolbook poster from my booklet because I feel this graphic has the most interesting figure-ground relationship. Lastly, I used a complementary color scheme of purple and yellow to create a clean and sophisticated design.
